Latest update brings some good Play Store & Play Protect-related features

The latest Google Play System update is bringing new Play Store and Play Protect features to Android smartphones near you. According to Google’s official support documentation, among other multiple features, the Play Store will now help you make better decisions on installing the apps that you love. Moreover, the update also brings improved and more reliable download and installation.

However, the feature that stands out for the Play Store is the ability to “check the status of app installs happening on other devices you own.” Now, this will help you check the progress of the app installs happening on your other supported devices, right on your Android devices’ screen. Well, this is a nice step going forward for managing apps across all devices. Folks at Android Police did install the latest Google Play system update and Play Store v32.4 but sadly couldn’t see the feature in action.

Wear OS Play Store home page is also getting updated to better display recommended apps

This hints that it is an obvious server-side update, and Google will take its own sweet time before pushing the feature to every user. There is another interesting incoming feature for Android 13. Notably, phones running on Android 13 will show Play Protect security information on the Security and Privacy settings page inside your phone’s Settings app.

Apart from these two important updates, the Play System update also brings a new menu for large screens or landscape mode, and a new secondary menu to browse recommended apps for their Wear OS, Android TV, or Android Auto devices from their Android phones. Finding recommended apps is also getting easier with an update to the Play Store Wear OS home page.

Some performance optimizations, bug fixes, and improvements to security, stability, and accessibility are also a part of this latest Play System update. For more information, you can check out the official webpage.
