Kano’s Star Wars coding kit lets you become one with the force

Kano, a company that creates fun kits that teach you how to code, has teamed up with Disney to launch a new Star Wars-themed kit. Built around the idea of using the force, the kit lets you use a motion sensor that can control scenarios that you build with code, with a little Porg and Tie Fighter flavor thrown in.

The kit comes with a circular motion sensor that you build yourself. Once it’s put together, you can shift to coding some Star Wars fun with Kano’s usual code-block interface in the Star Wars The Force Coding Kit app from iTunes, the Microsoft Store, or the Kindle Store.

“Learn the ways of The Force, with the Star Wars The Force Coding Kit – a build-it-yourself Bluetooth connected motion sensor, and creative coding experience that takes you on the journey from learner to master, as you code, create, play, and share endless Star Wars adventures,” Kano said in a press release.

Inside the kit, you’ll find all of the parts needed to put together the motion sensor, along with interchangeable logos for the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. There’s also a set of exclusive Star Wars stickers for users to check out.

The Star Wars The Force coding kit will be available on October 4 in the U.S., UK and Canada at “select retailers” and from Kano’s website for $80.
