iOS 13.5.1 is out to fix a flaw that enabled jailbreaking, iPadOS 13.5.1 and watchOS 6.2.6 join it

Today Apple is releasing the update to iOS 13.5.1 for all supported devices. This is a small one, as its version number implies, but it is quite important, security-wise.

The release fixes a zero-day vulnerability in iOS 13.5 that allowed jailbreaking. This was found not long after iOS 13.5 got released. While some people do enjoy jailbreaking their iPhone, that same vulnerability could be used by malicious actors to do nasty stuff on your device, which we’re assuming no one wants. Apple’s exact wording is provided in the image below, which details the changelog for the update.

As you can see, iPadOS 13.5.1 is also out, fixing the exact same thing and nothing more. The same goes for watchOS 6.2.6, the trio is just one big ‘ol security fix. And that is why, unless you’re into the whole jailbreaking thing, you should update your devices as soon as possible. This exploit has been in the wild long enough.
