India’s Redmi 10 Prime will have a larger 6,000 mAh battery (1,000 mAh more than the global model)

So, it’s not a straight rebrand – the Redmi 10 Prime will have a 6,000 mAh battery, that is 20% bigger than the 5,000 mAh battery of the global Redmi 10. This was confirmed by Xiaomi itself, which adds that this is the lightest 6,000 mAh phone in the Redmi family.

We completed our review of the global model last week (don’t miss the video review). In it we found that the 5,000 mAh battery scores an impressive 127 hour Endurance rating. Obviously, the Prime will do even better than that.

However, the global model was a bit of a pain to charge since it tops out at 18W. This meant that a full 0-100% charge took 2 hours and 13 minutes. We’re not seeing any teasers about increasing the charging power, so getting to a 100% will take longer on the Prime (but you’ll need to charge less often, of course).

The Redmi 10 Prime will be unveiled tomorrow with a Helio G88 chipset, “superstar camera” and a high refresh rate screen. It will be available through Amazon India. Check back tomorrow for more details.
