Huawei nova 6 5G selfie camera tops DxOMark charts

Huawei introduced the nova 6 5G in China today with dual shooters on the front in a punch-hole design, similar to the Honor V30 appearance. DxOMark got its hands on the phone early and is already done its evaluation for the selfie camera.

According to the website, the front-facing shooters are the best on the market with a score of 100, dethroning the Galaxy Note10+ 5G which got 99.

The nova 6 5G has two cameras – main one has a 32MP 1/2.8” sensor with f/2.2 aperture, the other is 8 MP ultrawide snapper.

This setup can provide good exposure in pretty much all conditions, thanks to its HDR processing, DxOMark says. There is a wide dynamic range, allowing for taking photos in tricky conditions, colors are nice and the white balance is accurate.

The big deal is that the nova 6 5G camera has PDAF (unlike the regular nova 6 with normal fixed focus), which allows you to take images with good focus from closeups to 2-3 meters distance (when the phone is on a selfie stick).

The exposure of the Huawei nova 6 5G is just slightly less reliable than the powerhouse Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the camera will occasionally get skin tones slightly wrong. However, the HDR was rated excellent by DxO and the Bokeh mode got praise too.
