How you can buy better equipment in Minecraft Dungeons

So you’re playing Minecraft Dungeons, but you’re having difficulty handling a certain kind of enemy or tackling a level. It’s clear you need more firepower and upgraded gear to get the job done, but you’ve exhausted other avenues like looting enemies or searching for hidden chests. You’ve accumulated a ton of emeralds, but you need somewhere to go spend them.

Here’s everything you need to know about buying better equipment from vendors in Minecraft Dungeons:

How can I buy better equipment from vendors in Minecraft Dungeons?

The first thing to know about buying better equipment from villagers like traders and vendors is how to find them. Between every level in Minecraft Dungeons, you have an area to practice, prepare yourself for the next level, meet up with friends for co-op, and more. This area is known as the camp, and over time as you rescue more villagers you can get more vendors and shops opening up around the place.

The first vendor you’ll unlock is the blacksmith, who allows you to buy new weapons and armor for 80 emeralds. You’ll also have a good chance of finding a wandering trader early on, who will occupy another space in your camp for a while.

No matter who it is, just approach the vendor you want to interact with and press the corresponding button/key. A menu should pop up letting you know what you can buy from the vendor and how much you’ll spend. For example, the blacksmith will give you a random piece of gear appropriate to your level for 80 of your emeralds. You don’t get much choice, but you have a chance of getting better gear than what you currently have, especially if some of your gear is a lower level than you are.

You can access these vendors any time you’re in camp, so make sure to take a moment between every mission to make sure you’re fully outfitted, and don’t need any new equipment. Also be sure to save up your emeralds during levels, and keep an eye out for piggy banks, or hidden chests that can grant you even more wealth.

Lighter wallet, heavier sword

Mastering the art of negotiation is important in Minecraft Dungeons, especially considering that’s basically the only use of emeralds in the game. It’s possible you can unlock even more vendors in the future, and turn your camp into a bustling hub of commerce. Where you’re the only source of money, of course. Sounds like a perfect economy with no issues whatsoever.
