Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a mysterious figure from Destiny 2 that supplies us with Exotic gear at the weekends. It’s kind of him too, as there have been weeks where he is my only source of Exotics. You can buy his stuff for legendary shards, so make sure you have a good supply on Friday morning.

Xûr’s stock changes weekly, and he always has something for each class as well as mystery engram that could contain anything, so it’s still worth seeking him out if possible.

How can you find Xûr in Destiny 2?

Xûr is something of a wandering soul, and can technically show up in any of the public spaces in the game. Happily, he seems to like just a few different ones, but we are always prepared to find him wherever he is.

Xûr appears at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT / 6 p.m. UK time on a Friday, before disappearing exactly 48 hours later on Sunday morning.

Where is this week?

This week Xûr is in the hangar at the tower. He hangs out at the back of the tower near the ships. As you enter the hangar turn left and head to the end. Just before you fall off the side look left, and you will see some stairs, head up to the top and turn right; Xûr will be at the end, waiting with some goodies.

Along with the Isochronal Engram — it gives you an exotic you don’t own — for 97 legendary shards, Xûr also has:

  • The Jade Rabbit Scout Rifle
  • Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves gauntlets (Hunter)
  • The Stag helmet (Warlock)
  • Ashen Wake gauntlets (Titan)

While the Jade Rabbit is an ok scout rifle, there are better ones available, so if you don’t have a lot of shards, I would hold off on buying it.

I wouldn’t worry about the Tricksleeves either if you are Hunter unless you love sidearms for some bizarre reason. They help with sidearms a lot, but nothing else.

Being able to drop a healing circle as a Warlock is super helpful. The Stag lets you do that with one important caveat; you have to die first. That’s not as helpful for you but could be for your team.

While I love the name Ashen Wake, the exotic itself isn’t very helpful. It doesn’t add any damage or unique ability to your Titan; it just lets your grenades explode on impact. I wouldn’t bother.

The Isochronal Engram is always a gamble of course. This week I got myself a Riskrunner submachine gun, which is exciting. I’m looking forward to chaining arc lightning all over the Vex.

Who is Xûr, Agent of the Nine?

Xûr is a mysterious vendor in Destiny 2, providing access to Exotic weapons, armor, and various consumable items, in exchange for a specific currency. While Exotic engrams are a way of securing random drops of high-value loot, Xûr provides a shortcut to particular items, provided they’re being stocked.

What makes Xûr unique are his dynamic characteristics, with a brief appearance every week, in a randomized location. This means that every weekend, Xûr and his inventory will only be accessible for a limited period, in an undisclosed location within Destiny 2’s world. To access his goods, you need to track down exactly where he’s situated this week, although the site can usually be found pretty easily once eager players post details online.

Xûr also sports a dynamic inventory, with an ever-changing selection of goods to choose from every week. In the first Destiny, Xûr always offered a piece of Exotic gear for each class and a single Exotic weapon, and a similar offering can be acquired in Destiny 2 as well. Due to his cycling stock of goods, it’s recommended dedicated players check back weekly, in case Xûr is stocking an item you’re aiming to unlock.
