HONOR’s new phones use Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL cameras

HONOR is the latest brand to adopt Samsung’s 200MP camera sensors. The HONOR 90 and the HONOR 90 Pro are the company’s newest high-end smartphones, and they come packed with some amazing features. They both come equipped with the 200MP (1/1.4-inch) sensor for their primary cameras.

The HONOR 90 and the HONOR 90 Pro use Samsung’s 200 MP ISOCELL HP3 sensor for the primary camera with an F1.9 aperture, 0.56µm pixels, PDAF, OIS, and 4K video recording. They feature 12MP ultrawide cameras with autofocus, a 50MP ultrawide front-facing camera, and a 2MP front-facing depth sensor. The HONOR 90 has a 2MP depth sensor, while the HONOR 90 Pro has a 32MP telephoto camera with OIS, PDAF, and 2.5x optical zoom. Interestingly, neither of these phones features 4K 60fps or 8K video recording.

The cheaper of the two phones, the HONOR 90, comes equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, while the HONOR 90 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Both phones have 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage. They run Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1 out of the box. Both phones are powered by 5,000mAh batteries, with 66W fast charging on the HONOR 90 and 90W fast charging on the HONOR 90 Pro. Both phones support up to 40W fast charging via the USB PD standard.

Both smartphones feature 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Only the HONOR 90 Pro has a stereo loudspeaker setup, and both lack wireless charging support. Both phones have an optical in-display fingerprint reader.

The sale will begin on June 7 in China, and the phones will soon be launched in global markets with Google Play Store.
