Honor Pad X8 is official with unannounced chipset, ancient Android version

The X40 isn’t the only new device Honor announced for its home market of China this week. The affordable phone has been joined by an affordable tablet. It’s called Honor Pad X8, and it’s not to be confused with either the Honor Pad 8, launched back in July, nor the Honor Pad X8 Lite, which surfaced on the company’s website a couple of days ago.

The tablet runs three-year old Android 10 for whatever reason, with Honor’s Magic UI 4.0 on top. It measures 240.2 x 159 x 7.55 mm and weighs 460g. It’s already up for order in China, in Dawn Blue, at a special introductory price of CNY 1,299 ($186 or €185 at the current exchange rates). After the initial sale concludes, the price goes up to CNY 1,399 ($200 or €200). A Mint Green option should arrive at some point in the future too.
