Hogwarts in Minecraft is finally complete, and available now

For my very first Minecraft showcase, I covered an impressive undertaking to build Hogwarts inside of Minecraft. At the time of my showcase, the project was just in alpha. Now, over a month later (and four years of total work,) the map is out for anyone to enjoy and explore.

Why should you be excited by another Minecraft map? Because this endeavor encaptures far more than just imitations of Hogwarts. It includes an interactive world complete with spells you can cast, classes you attend, puzzles you must solve to unlock additional areas, NPC’s that you can converse with, story elements, and pretty much everything you could want from a Harry Potter RPG. Because of the extensive changes done to Minecraft’s gameplay with this map, it is only available for Minecraft: Java Edition, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive.

As I noted in my initial showcase of Floo Network’s project, I absolutely adore people who push the limits of possibility in a game that lets you do whatever you want. Being able to explore Hogwarts and other Harry Potter locales while being an actual wizard is certainly exciting. If you’re interested, you can download the Witchcraft and Wizardry map for free with the option to donate if you want to support the team behind it.
