Here’s when Galaxy S23’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will be launched

It is rumored that Samsung will exclusively use a Snapdragon chipset in the Galaxy S23 series. Exynos chipsets have had below-par performance over the past few years, and customers have been demanding Samsung to go full Snapdragon for its high-end phones. Now, Qualcomm has revealed when it plans to unveil its next flagship processor.

Qualcomm has revealed that it will hold its next annual event, the Snapdragon Summit 2022, from November 15 to November 17. This is when the company will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. As usual, the company’s event will take place in Hawaii. The company’s annual event usually takes place in December, but this year, Qualcomm is holding it one month earlier.

This earlier-than-usual unveiling could be due to Chinese smartphone OEMs. Usually, smartphone sales in China jump around the Chinese new year. So, if the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launches in November, phones using that chipset could go on sale in December 2022 end, just before the Chinese new year in January 2023.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is reportedly made using TSMC’s 4nm process. It is rumored to feature one Cortex-X3 CPU core, two Cortex-A720 CPU cores, two Cortex-A710 CPU cores, and three Cortex-A510 CPU cores. It is also said to feature the Adreno 740 GPU, but Qualcomm could end up calling it the Adreno Gen 2. It should make Samsung’s next flagship phone extremely powerful.
