Here’s the best build for Grandmaster Nightfall: The Ordeal in Destiny 2

Last week, Bungie released a new update for Destiny 2 which adds a new difficulty for the Nightfall: The Ordeal strike. You need to be Power Level 1025 to even start it, and you will need to talk to your team constantly to succeed. Focusing on long-range weapons and quickly recharging your Super is the key to success in my opinion. Below, I have compiled the best build for attempting the Grandmaster Nightfall: The Ordeal. I will also talk about some of the other weapons your teammates should equip.

In my opinion, the Titan is the best class to take on the Grandmaster Nightfall: The Ordeal because the character features a lot of defensive skills when you have your Void Super equipped. You can block damage and even generate overshields when you melee enemies. However, there are a few key exotics that come into play when you are a Titan.

Let us start off with the basics. Remove all of your Armor Mods and equip Intellect as the first one for 5 slots. You will need to constantly regenerate your Super in order to quickly take down enemies, especially Barrier and Unstoppable Champions. Try to maximize this statistic to 100 if you can. Ideally, you will want armor that has high Intellect or Recovery baked in, so you can mix and match the Armor Mods. In my experience, having increased Recovery does not help because enemies do an obscene amount of damage. If you are under direct fire, you will get killed almost instantly. There is never time to escape.

Now, let us talk about the armor necessary to complete the challenge. You can use any Legendary armor, but have Helm of Saint-14 as one of your Exotics. Enemies that enter Ward of Dawn are blinded, while allies that pass through gain an overshield. Additionally, Sentinel Shield blinds enemies. Blinding enemies is necessary to stop them from doing damage when you’re in close-quarters combat.

If this build does not work for you, then you should use the Ursa Furiosa gauntlets. Ursa Furiosa makes you move faster when you are guarding when Sentinel Shield is active. It also converts the damage you receive while guarding to Super energy after the Sentinel Shield expires. This allows you to recharge your Super faster because you receive a lot of damage. Make sure all of your armor is Masterworked before you attempt the Grandmaster Nightfall: The Ordeal because even those 2 extra points per attribute matter.

Now we should go over weapons. Izanagi’s Burden, Recluse, and 21% Delirium are helpful for picking off enemies from afar, removing barrier shields (with the Anti-Barrier Mod equipped on Recluse), and clearing enemies with the machine gun. If another teammate has Divinity, you can kill Barrier Champions with a couple of headshots if a teammate has the Divinity’s laser on them. Just make sure someone in your team has a Hand Cannon with a Season Pass Mod equipped to stagger Unstoppable Champions.

The other build that works quite well is The Mountaintop, Eriana’s Vow, and 21% Delirium. This build does a lot of boss damage so use it if there is no place to hide at the final encounter. The Mountaintop should have the Boss Spec Mod equipped while 21% Delirium should have the Mod that does more damage to normal enemies. You will want to use it to clear the hordes.

Since the damage you will be doing mostly relies on Special Ammo, have Armor Mods equipped that grant you more Special Ammo. Special Ammo Scavenger and the other one that gives you Special Ammo on a Finisher are the ones I would recommend.

Hopefully, this guide will help you overcome the Grandmaster Nightfall: The Ordeal. Let us know if it worked. Even with these weapons equipped, things can be quite wrong if you lose patience. Remember, you just need to finish the strike, you do not need to do it in a particular time limit. If you are able to hide and wait for your Super to recharge, do it.

Huge shoutout to @purdyyd2 for helping us complete the Grandmaster Nightfall: The Ordeal.
