The Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist features a rotating selection of possible challenges and events, most of which are fairly straightforward. Every so often, however, FH5’s Festival Playlist will present players with a particularly difficult challenge, either through design, confusing or unclear instructions, or even in-game bugs that prevent the challenge from being completed like normal.

You first step to clearing the “Double Up” Treasure Hunt is to secure the correct car. This time around, only one vehicle will do: the 1973 AMC Gremlin X. This American-made car is easy to obtain, running you only 35,000 Credits from the Autoshow, and features a host of upgrade options with which we’ll complete this Treasure Hunt clue. Grab your car, but don’t leave your Player House or Festival Site just yet.

After you’ve managed to get your paws on a 1973 AMC Gremlin X, take it to the “Upgrades & tuning” section. The goal here is to upgrade the Gremlin X until it’s capable of reaching 200 miles per hour (approximately 322km/h) with ease, a feat that will require substantial upgrades. How you go about achieving this level of performance in your car is up to you; you can do it yourself, using our guides on Forza Horizon 5 upgrading and Forza Horizon 5 tuning; or you can use one of many community-created tunes (mine is shown above as an example).

Whichever method you choose, the Gremlin X is more than capable of smashing the speed goal for the “Double Up” Treasure Hunt.

Once your car is upgraded, you’ll need to take it somewhere it can really let loose. There’s no better place on the expansive Forza Horizon 5 map than the highway stretching across most of the land. Fully upgraded, the 1973 AMC Gremlin X won’t need a ton of space to reach 200mph, so pick a location to start and put the pedal to the medal. The moment you reach the speed goal, the “Double Up” Treasure Hunt will update, and the search location will appear on your map.

Once you’ve solved the clue and completed the challenge, the “Double Up” Treasure Hunt search area will appear in the city of Guanajuato. If you want to narrow your search down further without using the Forza Horizon 5 Treasure Map DLC, you can use the images above for the exact location on the map and where it’s located in the world (tucked to the side just past the entrance to one of Guanajuato’s numerous tunnels).

Smash the treasure chest with your precious Gremlin, and you’ll be rewarded with a handful of Playlist Points and a new Vanity Item with which to deck out your in-game character.

The challenges continue

As the Forza Horizon 5 map shifts through the seasons every week, a new batch of challenges appear. If any mission poses a unique challenge to players, we’ll update this section with instructions on how to (if you can) complete it.
