Halo Wars 2 gets Season 15 update, includes balance changes

Halo Wars 2, the Halo franchise’s latest real-time strategy (RTS) spinoff title, has recieved an update that launched the 15th season of competitive play. In addition, the update also brought forward numerous balance changes to various units and leaders.

One of the most impactful changes made is a nerf to the damage that Vultures and Wraiths are able to put out against units meant to counter them. Additionally, the Scorpion tank also got a flat damage buff to help it compete with other tank units more effectively. Many leader units were tweaked as well — for example, Leader Jerome’s movement speed was reduced, and Leader Colony’s Hunter Captain unit had its health reduced slightly. Make sure to read the full patch notes to see everything that was changed.

Considering 343 Industries announced the conclusion of consistent support for Halo Wars 2 in late 2019, it’s nice to see that Halo Wars 2 has recieved some love. Perhaps these changes will help draw players back to the game — after all, we need something to play until Halo Infinite releases.

Halo Wars 2 is available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The Complete Edition of the game that includes all the DLC content is normally $60, but right now it’s on sale on the Microsoft Store for $24.
