Microsoft has detailed a planned expansion of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, further building the compilation of its flagship shooter series. Following its largest update to date, The Master Chief Collection is extending to Steam and Windows 10, taking the full games suite beyond the living room. After a brief tease last year, it’s bringing Halo: Reach to the roster on Xbox One and PC too.
Halo: Reach first released in 2010, marking Bungie’s final farewell with Halo, before development shifted to 343 Industries. Directly leading to the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, this prequel explored a unit dubbed “Noble Team,” withstanding the Covenant invasion on the planet Reach. Backed by leading competitive multiplayer and the Firefight cooperative horde mode, Halo: Reach is an excellent addition to The Master Chief Collection.
Halo: Reach multiplayer will be added for free to Halo: The Master Chief Collection for existing owners. Meanwhile, the full Campaign and Firefight modes will bundle within a paid package, though pricing is unannounced. Halo: Reach will ship via Xbox Game Pass too, Microsoft’s Netflix-style subscription service for gaming at launch.
Master Chief returns better than ever.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundles together the best of Microsoft’s shooter. With the campaign and multiplayer onboard, it’s the essential package for any Halo fan.
