Halo Infinite’s multiplayer could run at 120FPS — and be free-to-play
Halo Infinite was present at the recent Xbox Games Showcase, with campaign gameplay shown off in an eight minute demo. Multiplayer was absent however, with a promise from 343 Industries that a look into online modes was coming later in 2020. Now, it appears that there’s a couple of big changes coming to how players experience Halo multiplayer.
According to a listing on Smyths Toys, Halo Infinite multiplayer will run at 120FPS and be free-to-play. Here’s an image from the listing:
With the campaign running at 60FPS and now the possibility that multiplayer runs at 120FPS, it definitely seems like 343 Industries targeted bleeding edge performance over sheer visual spectacle. 343 Industries has addressed complaints about the campaign’s visual quality, stating that some elements are still being worked on.
Halo Infinite is currently set to arrive in Holiday 2020. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC, as well as launch day one into Xbox Game Pass.
