Halo developer 343 Industries has given fans a first look at the Streets map coming to Halo Infinite’s multiplayer in a new press release (courtesy of IGN). The map is designed for 4v4 Arena gametypes and is incredibly close-quarters, fast-paced, and asymmetrical in nature. Players can expect lots of short sightlines, tight corners, and verticality, which gives Streets a unique feel compared to other Halo Infinite multiplayer maps like Bazaar, Recharge, or Behemoth.

Streets, which is set in the streets of New Mombasa at night, also features lots of interesting artistic touches like neon signs, advertisements (including one for a “Holopuppy”), and a Halo Infinite arcade cabinet that plays a catchy version of the Halo theme. Players will also be able to spot the night sky throughout the map.

According to IGN, the developers have made it clear that Streets isn’t best suited for objective gametypes like Capture the Flag. However, playing Capture the Flag on the map was reportedly an enjoyable experience, so perhaps modes like Capture the Flag will be available on the map in casual playlists.

Two new maps for Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle have been announced as well: ‘Deadlock’ and ‘High Power.’ Deadlock has been described as a “very dramatic” map that feels a lot like a classic Halo BTB map, while High Power started out as a “test gym” for the BTB experience and ended up becoming a full map after developer playtests revealed how fun it was to play on.

The full Halo Infinite experience, including both the Halo Infinite campaign and multiplayer, is slated to launch on Dec. 8, 2021 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows PCs. The campaign costs $60, but the multiplayer is free-to-play.
