Halo Infinite microtransactions are changing next week, says 343i
343 Industries’ Head of Design, Jerry Hook, has announced that a series of large changes are coming to the in-game microtransactions shop that allows players to purchase cosmetics for their Halo Infinite multiplayer Spartan, weapons, and vehicles. Specifically, these changes are coming on Jan. 18, 2022 — the same day that the Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown event is kicking off.
Based on Hook’s description, the goal of these changes is to reduce the price of most items while also offering more value and allowing players to buy previously bundle-exclusive items individually. “We are focused on reducing pricing across the board, providing stronger values in our bundles, starting to put individual items outside of bundles, and more,” said Hook. “We will be trying new things throughout the rest of the season (Halo Infinite Season 1) so that we can continue to learn and improve for the future.”
Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is free to play and is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows PCs. It’s a ton of fun, and paired with the Halo Infinite campaign, it’s easily one of the best Xbox games available right now.
