Halo games get double XP during coronavirus outbreak

Halo developer 343 Industries announced on Twitter that both Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) and Halo 5: Guardians have had Double XP enabled indefinitely for all game modes. The Tweet states that the Double XP is “to help make your time inside a little more enjoyable,” indicating that the event is in response to the self-quarantine procedures being practiced by the global population during the outbreak of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

Additionally, players can also get an Arena and Warzone XP Boost Pack by logging into Halo 5: Guardians once a week, further adding to the amount of experience they’ll get by completing matches.

I think it’s really cool that 343 Industries has enabled global Double XP right now given how so many people are trapped inside with nothing to do. Hopefully this Double XP event will help some Halo fans get unlocks they’ve been grinding for.

Halo: MCC is available now on Xbox One and PC for $30 or $40 depending on the platform you choose, while Halo 5: Guardians is available on Xbox One for $20.
