Halo 3 on PC set to begin test flighting in June, says 343 Industries

Halo developer 343 Industries has announced in a blog post that Halo 3 is set to begin flighting on PC in June. Specifically, flighting is slated to begin in the first half of the month. This news follows the release of Halo 2: Anniversary on PC on May 12.

If you would like to have a chance at participating in the test flights for Halo 3, as well as future releases like Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4, we highly recommend signing up for the Halo Insider Program. All you have to do is provide 343 Industries with your system specs and the information necessary for them to deploy test builds to your Steam and/or Microsoft account, and you may end up getting selected to play in the flight and help find bugs that need fixing. Best of all, becoming a Halo Insider is completely free, so there’s no reason not to sign up.

Overall, I’m glad to see Halo 3 starting test flights soon, but I’m nervous about how the game will eventually turn out due to the rough state Halo 2 is in on PC. Ultimately, though, only time will tell how polished Halo 3 will be when it eventually launches.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which contains all of the pre-Xbox One era Halo shooters, is available for $40 on both Steam and the Windows 10 Store. You’ll get access to games that have released already right away, while access to the ones that haven’t come out yet will be given immediately when those titles officially launch.
