Rockstar Games unveiled a new trailer for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions for Grand Theft Auto V on Thursday at the PlayStation Showcase. These editions will now target a March 2022 release date, a delay from the previously announced November 11, 2021 launch.

Grand Theft Auto V is the fifth main entry in Rockstar’s long-running series of open-world adventure games, recently topping 150 million copies sold. This game follows a trio of criminals pulling off the biggest heists that would set them up for life, while Grand Theft Auto Online translates the same action to multiplayer.

Rockstar Games promises that these next-gen incarnations of Grand Theft Auto V will include technical and graphical improvements, including better performance when driving a select number of vehicles in GTA Online. In addition, the standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online will be free-to-play for the first three months on PlayStation 5, before a paid standalone title later in 2022.

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most beloved entries in the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise, and when the next-gen remaster arrives, it will undoubtedly become one of the best games on Xbox Series X and Series S.
