Grounded is free to play on Steam this weekend, until November 15
Grounded has been an undeniable success story for the small development team at Obsidian Entertainment, as the open world survival game has clearly resonated with players, having recently crossed a total of 5 million unique players since its launch with Grounded’s early access. If you haven’t given the game a try yet, it’s definitely recommended, as Grounded manages to strike a balance between charm and challenge, and has the potential to be one of the best survival games around when it officially releases in full. For this weekend, at least, it’s never been easier to give Grounded a spin, as the game is currently free to play for all newcomers on Steam.
If you have a PC capable of playing Grounded, the game is free to install and play for the entire weekend through Steam, meaning there’s no excuse to not at least dip your toes in Obsidian Entertainment’s innovative title. The free-play weekend has already started, and lasts until this Sunday, November 15, 2020, until 1 pm PT, giving you a few days to settle into the game before decided if you want to purchase it or not.
Of course, Grounded is available for direct purchase from Microsoft or Steam, but you can also play Grounded at no additional cost through Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, on both Windows and Xbox, as well as hundreds of other games.
Grounded continues to get better and better over time, and just released its biggest update yet, the Pond Update, which adds a ton more to do and gives players a lot more to explore in this ever evolving backyard. Grounded is also enhanced for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, so if you want to play Grounded in its best possible form, you’ll need to know where to buy an Xbox Series X|S.
