Grand Theft Auto V leaves Xbox Game Pass next month

Grand Theft Auto V is leaving Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One. Rockstar Games’ open-world bestseller entered Microsoft’s Xbox subscription service earlier this year, providing unlimited access under the flat $10 monthly free. It’s now scheduled to depart on May 7, following four months of availability.

Grand Theft Auto V was an unexpected entry to the Xbox Game Pass rotation back in January, following continued success through the console generation, with over half a decade of topping U.S. sales charts. While initially praised for its single-player offerings, its multiplayer and profound depiction of modern Los Angeles has seen players return in the millions. Rockstar Games switches out Grand Theft Auto on May 7 for Red Dead Redemption 2, its latest acclaimed open-world hit.
