Amazon Prime Day brings some worthwhile video game savings in 2021, with various Xbox One and PlayStation 4 titles at their lowest prices to date, many also with free upgrades for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. Balan Wonderworld saw mixed reviews when it launched this March, but for those wanting to give this platformer a shot, it’s already $40 off this Prime Day. You’ll explore a variety of worlds, unlocking costumes along the way, although not excusing its shortcomings in performance and creative gameplay.
Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t the best launch in history, but it’s since seen regular updates to improve the game, with many more on the horizon. It’s significantly smoother on the latest generation consoles, with deep role-playing and a vast open-world city to explore.
The latest Watch Dogs breaks away from conventional protagonists, embracing a new “play as anyone” mechanic. It allows you to play as anyone roaming the streets of this dystopian near-future London, hacking and fighting your way to freedom. There’s also a free next-generation upgraded included with this copy.
A Viking adventure of assassination and exploration, Valhalla takes players from Norway to Britain’s Dark Ages. From brutal combat to complex politics, it’s packed with dozens of hours of content to explore. Xbox Series X|S and PS5 owners can also get a free upgrade from their previous-generation copy.
Square Enix delivered its take on the iconic superhero squad last year, exploring a new story in the universe, available both single-player or cooperatively with friends. It puts role-playing at the center, grinding gear, and leveling up to take on high-value threats. The game also scored a next-gen upgrade earlier this year.
Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD Remaster | $20 off at Amazon
This two-piece remaster is a modern look for Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, with newly upgraded visuals title-wide, and assembling the most complete package to date. The Xbox version is currently discounted for Prime Day, although similar discounts aren’t offered to PS4 owners.
Kingdom Hearts remains a Disney and Square Enix fever dream, mashing the cast from iconic franchises into one video game franchise. The latest mainline entry, Kingdom Hearts III, brings another new story with huge variety across its worlds.
