Google Play Games comes to Samsung’s Windows-powered laptops in select regions

Google is making continuous efforts to allow users to sync whatever they are doing across devices. Back in January, it was announced that Google Play Games for Windows would go live in select regions via the beta channel. Now, Google has officially started sending invites for Google Play Games for Windows PC.

Google Play Games beta invites are live in Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan. Samsung Galaxy Book users can enjoy this new feature. A video clip shared on Twitter shows the interface of Google Play Games on a Windows PC along with some of the supported gaming titles. Only a handful of Android gaming titles are optimized for this new platform.

Google Play Games brings select Android games to Windows laptops

Google Play Games includes Android games like Asphalt 9: Legends, Cookie Run: Kingdom, Gardenscapes, Homescapes, Idle Heroes, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Top War: Battle Games, and a few more. The company said that it will expand the service to more regions in the coming days. The main executable file is called ‘crosvm.exe,’ indicating that it is an official virtual machine for Chrome OS.

The internet services giant also published minimum requirements for Google Play Games for Windows PCs. It includes Windows 10 (v2004 or later), an SSD, at least 20GB of storage space, and a gaming-class GPU. Google specifically mentioned that AMD PCs with less than 1GB VRAM and Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are not compatible.
