Google Pixel 6 appears in new renders, more specs revealed

Last week we saw leaked images of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which revealed the new Google purebreads will come with a refreshed design. And yesterday we saw the Pro model appear in new renders with some specs. Now the vanilla Pixel 6 has also appeared in a new set of images, giving us a better look at its design.

The new Google Pixel 6 images corroborate last week’s leak – the smartphone packs a punch hole display and has two cameras on the rear placed on the horizontal island. However, the screen in the latest pictures is surrounded by slightly thicker bezels, while the rear cameras are joined by an additional sensor and what’s likely a microphone.

The resolution of all three cameras on the Pixel 6 is unknown, but the source claims that the display measures 6.4″ diagonally and has a fingerprint reader underneath.

The Pixel 6 has the power key and volume rocker on its right-side frame, while the SIM card slot is located on the left. At the bottom, we have the USB-C port flanked by two grilles, likely housing a speaker and the primary mic. The earpiece will double up as a speaker since the source says the smartphone will feature stereo speakers.

You can also see that there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on the Pixel 6, so you’ll have to rely on USB-C for listening to music through wired earphones.

The Pixel 6 will be 8.9mm thick (11.8mm with the camera bump) and support wireless charging. On the software side of things, it will likely run Android 12 out of the box, and we could see Google introduce some new features, some of which may eventually trickle down to older Pixels.

With the Pixel 6 duo’s launch still months away, you can expect more information about the smartphones to surface in the lead-up to the official unveiling.
