Google outs Android 11 Beta 1.5 with minor fixes, fully working Google Pay

Google’s naming of pre-release Android versions was bad enough before, what with the going from Developer Preview x to Developer Preview x+1 which was also known as Beta 1, but this time the company really outdid itself.

Google is now releasing Android 11 Beta 1.5. That is the official name, we’re not kidding. This comes around one week after the initial beta became available for supported Pixels. The new build number is RPB1.200504.020, and it’s rolling out now to those who have their Pixel enrolled into the Android Beta program.

For those of you who are more experimental in nature, factory images are up for grabs if you’d rather not wait and manually install it.

This is a bug fixing release, which makes Google Pay functional again, and fixes a reboot crash while using gesture navigation to switch apps in different orientations. Some bug relating to eSIM on the Pixel 3 and 3a is also gone, and there are some improvements for Bluetooth baked in. There are still known issues around Android Auto, so if functionality there is broken for you, keep in mind that Google is aware of these.
