Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a story-driven co-op adventure which also pushes the boundaries of storytelling and features The Punisher’s Jon Bernthal. Many fans thought that Ghost Recon Breakpoint would be an expansion for Ghost Recon Wildlands, but it’s an entirely new experience. The title is designed to push you further than you’ve ever gone in a Ghost Recon game. Instead of the usual organization and certainty of your actions, you’re being hunted by a powerful enemy.
It’s not secret that Ghost Recon Breakpoint has a lot of microtransactions. You can buy blueprints and much more to tweak the way you play. Luckily, you can’t buy powerful gear. However, there were still “Time Saver” items like experience boosters, advanced weapon parts, and skill points available for actual currency. Today, they were suddenly removed from the game, and PC Games N reached out to Ubisoft for some clarification. A spokesperson for the company said the following.
These items were designed as an optional way for players arriving later to the game to catch up with those who have been playing for longer and enjoy our co-op and challenging end-game experiences. These Time Savers have since been removed from our store for now.
It’s great to see that certain players won’t have a pay-to-win advantage at launch. However, it seems like they’ll be added down the line. In my opinion, this shouldn’t be an option, but then again, all Ubisoft experiences have these types of advantages. Hopefully, what the team is saying about it not affecting player vs. players encounters is true.
