Player customization is going to be a huge part of Halo Infinite, and one of the main ways that players will be able to change their appearance is by changing the coating of their weapons as well as by adding special charms to them.

Even though Halo Infinite is still several months away from its expected Fall 2021 release date, several weapon coatings and charms have been revealed by 343 Industries, and some of them are even available to players who participate in special promotions. Here’s a breakdown of every weapon coating and decorative charm that we know about so far, as well as how to obtain them.

Halo Infinite: What are coatings and charms?

Halo Infinite’s weapon coatings are a type of special shader that allows you to change how a weapon looks by applying new colors and textures to them. For example, while the standard Battle Rifle is a deep black color and features a polished metallic sheen, unlocked coatings might give the weapon an olive green color and make it look weathered and battered instead of shiny and new. Some coatings may even make parts of the weapon look like they’re made from an entirely different material, like wood.

Compared to weapon coatings, much less is currently known about weapon charms. However, if Halo Infinite’s weapon charms are anything like those seen in other games such as Borderlands 3, they’ll be small decorations that will hang off part of your weapon like a keychain.

Right now, both weapon coatings and weapon charms can be obtained by redeeming codes that you can get by participating in various promotions. If you have a code to redeem, you can do so on the Halo Waypoint redemption page. When Halo Infinite releases, we expect that there will also be plenty of coatings and charms that you can earn through gameplay.
