Gears 5 and Resident Evil headline February’s Xbox Games with Gold

We’re approaching February and Microsoft has revealed the lineup of free Games with Gold for next month. They include Gears 5, Resident Evil, Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb, and Lost Planet 2. All of these can be played on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S natively or through backward compatibility.

The games next month offer a value of nearly $105 with thousands of Gamerscore up for grabs. If you haven’t played any of them yet, now’s the time. Both Resident Evil and Gears 5 will be available from February 1 through February 28. Indiana Jones will be free from February 1 until February 15. Dandara and Lost Planet 2 both come to Games with Gold in the middle of the month of February 16, but Dandara says until the middle of March while Lost Planet 2 leaves at the end of February.

Microsoft recently doubled the price of Xbox Live Gold, raising the price from $30 for 6-months to $60 for 6-months, what a 12-month membership used to be. Thankfully if you’re an existing member then you will be grandfathered in and your prices will not rise.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Microsoft wants to convert as many people to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as possible. The Ultimate bundle has not risen in price and still costs $15/month. Given that a 1-month Gold membership alone is now $11, you have every reason to upgrade.
