GDC 2020 to take place in March despite coronavirus outbreak
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) takes place every year and is regarded as one of the most important for game developers. This year though, many feared that it would be canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak in China. The illness has killed over 1,000 people and that number continues to rise as more people succumb to it in China and elsewhere around the globe.
GDC 2020 will take place as planned in March.
Companies based in China will either skip this year or only send US based staff. China based attendees will not attend this year (2% of total).

The GDC organizers recommend taking precautions against coronavirus by washing hands and practicing other sanitary protocols. Hopefully, it’ll go smoothly this year despite the public health crisis that continues to worsen by the day.
