Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Fold 5 get October security update

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone and its predecessor are beginning to receive the October 2024 security update in some countries. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is getting the update in Europe while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is getting the update in both Europe and the USA.

The October 2024 update also started rolling out to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 earlier today, so we assume it will soon be out for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 as well. Or we hope so. After all, as the latest models on the market, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 should get software updates before older devices, even if that unfortunately hasn’t been the reality thus far (though it’s not Samsung’s fault, more details at this link).
