Galaxy Z Fold 3 gets its security flaws fixed with May 2023 security update

Yesterday, Samsung released the May 2023 security update to several foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3, in the US. Now, the company has expanded the availability of the update to a new region. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now getting the May 2023 security update to several Latin American countries.

What’s new with Galaxy Z Fold 3’s May 2023 security update?

The newest software update that is currently available for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 bumps up the device’s firmware version to F926BXXS3EWD9. The update is currently available in Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Trinidad And Tobago. The update brings the May 2023 security patch that promises to fix over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones. The update could expand to more countries within the next few weeks.

If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 3 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now download the latest software. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the second half of 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The smartphone received the Android 12 update in late 2021 and the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update in late 2022. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 got access to the One UI 5.1 update in March 2023, and it will get two more Android OS updates in the future.
