Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip India pre-bookings are now live

Galaxy Unpacked will be upon us in five days (August 11), and Samsung is already prepping its marketplaces for buyers interested in its high-end foldables. A leak from earlier showed us the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in its entirety.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has been leaked extensively, too. Not too long ago, we also figured out how much the foldables would cost in India. If it piques your interest, you can now reserve your pre-booking on the official Samsung Shop App.

Customers in India can now pre-book Samsung’s new foldables

As shown in the images below, one needs to pay Rs 2,000 ($28) to get a ‘VIP Pass’ that gets deducted from the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s price. Additionally, you also get a free Galaxy Smart Tag worth Rs 2,699 ($36) for free. However, you will have to complete your Galaxy Z Fold 3 purchase to get the free object tracker. Samsung also promises a 100% refund in the case of cancellation.

We’re not quite sure just how far a Rs 2,000 (Rs 4,699 if you add the Galaxy Smart Tag’s cost) will go towards persuading anyone to buy a Galaxy Z Fold 3 in India. The foldable is expected to be prohibitively expensive (INR 1,35,000 ($1,820), according to one source). At that level, Rs 4,699 ($63) is a little more than a drop in the bucket. Besides, the aforementioned price doesn’t even include the upgraded S Pen.

The ‘discount’ also fails to make a dent in the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 3’s asking price, which is rumoured to be around Rs 90,000 ($1,212). Somehow, the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s predecessor sold surprisingly well in the otherwise price-sensitive Indian market. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about the Galaxy Z Flip.

On the other hand, Samsung is offering 12 months of free Samsung Care+ with Galaxy Z Fold 3 pre-orders in the US, along with a host of yet-to-be-revealed goodies.
