Samsung has finally released the July 2021 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The company had started rolling out the latest security patch in the last week of June 2021. The Galaxy S10 was the first phone to get the security update, and then the update was released to dozens of high-end, mid-range, and entry-level devices.

The company released a new software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in Germany last night. The new update carries firmware version F916BXXU1DUF1 and includes the July 2021 security patch. As per Samsung’s documentation, the July 2021 patch fixes more than 20 security and privacy-related vulnerabilities in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It also includes a fix for the Android Auto bug that some users were facing.

If you are using the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in Germany, you can check for the latest update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install on your smartphone. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. Samsung could expand the update to more markets worldwide over the next few days.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was launched in the second half of 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. The foldable smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update earlier this year and the One UI 3.1 update a few months ago. The device receives monthly security updates from Samsung.
