Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra large battery and overclocked chip tipped off

More signs point to Samsung releasing a new Galaxy Tab flagship tablet series later this year. And according to new bits of information shared by one Twitter tipster, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should have the same battery capacity as the Tab S8 Ultra and be powered by an overclocked “for Galaxy” Snapdragon chipset.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should feature a battery with a rated capacity of 10,880mAh. That’s the same rated value that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra battery has, which should mean that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should ship with a battery that has a typical capacity of 11,200mAh. (via @Tech_Reve)

Galaxy Tab S9 series uses an overclocked Snapdragon SoC

Samsung employed an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for the Galaxy S23 smartphone series — an SoC variant Qualcomm tuned especially “for Galaxy” devices.

And according to these new bits of unofficial information shared via Twitter, Samsung will use the same “for Galaxy” overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for its upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series. The source initially said it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2+, but there seems to have been an error in translation, and in the end, we believe that the Galaxy Tab S9 series will use the same chipset as the 2023 Galaxy S flagship phones.

Other specs remain unknown, but as we exclusively reported last month, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 lineup may boast an IP67 dust and water-resistance rating. Not counting Active-branded tablets, if what we’re hearing is true, the Tab S9 would be the first Samsung tablet lineup to boast water resistance capabilities.

Samsung will probably unveil the Galaxy Tab S9 series later this year, around the time it will announce the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 at Unpacked in August-September. The tablet series should consist of a base Galaxy Tab S9 model, the Galaxy Tab S9+, and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
