Galaxy Tab S8 series gains December 2022 security update

Samsung has released the latest security update for its newest high-end tablets. The December 2022 security update is rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S8 series across European countries and could soon roll out in other regions.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Tab S8 has firmware version X706BXXU3BVL2. The Galaxy Tab S8+ and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are getting the same update with firmware versions X806BXXU3BVL2 and X906BXXU3BVL2, respectively. Right now, the update is rolling out only to cellular versions of the tablets. The Wi-Fi versions of the tablets could get the update soon.

The December 2022 security patch that’s included in the new software fixes 93 security vulnerabilities. It could also fix some bugs that were introduced after the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. Stability and reliability might have also been improved.

If you are a Galaxy Tab S8 series user in Europe, you can download the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.
