Galaxy Tab S8 is live in Brazil but costs more than the S8 Ultra elsewhere

Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab S8 5G in Brazil. The tablet is available for purchase online and through offline retail partners starting today for the suggested price of BRL 7,699 ($1,536).

That’s the price for a 12-month installment, but customers in Brazil can get the Galaxy Tab S8 5G for a lower price if they purchase the tablet outright. Specifically, BRL 6,929 ($1,393).

The base Tab S8 model is the only one available in Brazil

Samsung hasn’t released the Galaxy Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra in Brazil yet, and the official announcement makes no mention of these more powerful variants. For now, customers in Brazil can order only the base Galaxy Tab S8 5G model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage, and there’s no word on when this might change.

Then again, seeing how the base Galaxy Tab S8 model in Brazil costs more than the Tab S8 Ultra in most other markets due to taxes on consumer electronics, the Ultra model might never see the light of day in Brazil.

As for the base model, it’s equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which should deliver the same level of performance as the other two flagship models. It has an 11-inch LTPS TFT panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a 120Hz refresh rate. The tablet is powered by an 8,000mAh battery and ships with a 15W wall charger in the box.
