Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+ getting May 2022 security update

Samsung’s latest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, received the May 2022 security update a couple of weeks ago. Now, the same update is rolling out to the vanilla Galaxy Tab S8 and the middle child Galaxy Tab S8+.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Tab S8 has firmware version X700XXU2AVD6, while that of the Galaxy Tab S8+ has firmware version X800XXU2AVD6. Both tablets are getting the May 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of known security vulnerabilities. The updates have been released across the world.

If you are a Galaxy Tab S8 series user anywhere in the world, you can now download and install the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Tab S8 series with Android 12-based One UI 4.1 earlier this year. Since their release, the devices in the series have been consistently getting new security updates. The South Korean firm has promised up to four major Android OS updates for the Galaxy Tab S8 family.
