Galaxy Tab S8 appears with Snapdragon 898 processor
The Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ are excellent tablets, but Samsung is working on something even better. It is expected that the South Korean firm will launch the Galaxy Tab S8 series sometime early next year, and the design of some of its variants has already been revealed. Now, the first signs of the Galaxy Tab S8’s processor have appeared.
A new Samsung device with model number SM-X808U has appeared in Geekbench’s database, revealing its processor and memory details. It is the 5G version of the Galaxy Tab S8+ meant for the US market. Going by the benchmark listing, the tablet uses Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 898. The device scored 1,211 points in Geekbench’s single-core CPU performance test and 3,193 points in the multi-core CPU test.
The chipset appears to feature one CPU core clocked at 3GHz, three CPU cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and four CPU cores clocked at 1.9GHz. The Galaxy Tab S8+ seems to have 8GB of RAM, and it is running Android 12 out of the box. Whether or not Samsung uses the recently unveiled Android 12L operating system on the Galaxy Tab S8 series remains to be seen.
Galaxy Tab S8 series specs
Samsung is expected to launch three Galaxy Tab S8 models: Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra could feature a massive, 14.6-inch OLED display. The Galaxy Tab S8 could have an 11-inch screen, while the Galaxy Tab S8+ could have a 12.4-inch OLED display. All the models are expected to feature 120Hz displays.
The South Korean firm could release all the tablets in Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898 variants. They could feature 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra could also be available in 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version. The Galaxy Tab S8 is expected to feature an 8,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S8+ could have a 10,090mAh battery. A 14,000mAh battery could power the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. All three tablets could support 45W fast charging.
These tablets could be launched in Wi-Fi-only, LTE, and 5G variants. The pricing of the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra could start at $740, $1,120, and $1,320, respectively.
