Galaxy S23 units sold in India will be locally made by Samsung

Samsung announced the Indian pricing of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra yesterday. The smartphones are already available for pre-order, and they will start shipping to buyers on February 17. The company also revealed that all the Galaxy S23 series units sold in India are locally made.

All Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra phones sold in India are manufactured at Samsung India’s factory in Noida. It is among Samsung’s biggest smartphone manufacturing facilities worldwide, and the company fulfills most of the domestic demand in India through the local facility.

The factory in Noida, India, was started in 2018 with a vision to make India Samsung’s global smartphone manufacturing hub. The facility was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Samsung also has its world’s biggest Mobile Experience Center in India, located at the iconic Opera House in Bengaluru.

Over the past few years, the company lost its first rank in the Indian smartphone market to Xiaomi. However, the company bounced back in Q4 2022 and grabbed the first position in the country.
