Galaxy S22 production schedule and colors hinted at again
We had exclusively revealed last week that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S22 series in February 2022. A few days ago, another report had confirmed that the South Korean firm has started the mass production of some of the components used in the upcoming high-end phones. Another leak has hinted at the production schedule and color variants of the phones in the Galaxy S22 lineup.
According to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Samsung has scheduled the Galaxy S22 mass production to start in the first week of December 2021. Moreover, he also claimed that the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ would be launched in four color variants: Black, Green, Pink Gold, and White. The Galaxy S22 Ultra could be released in four colors as well: Black, Dark Red, Green, and White.
Since these colors were also revealed in another leak, it looks like the information could be accurate. The Galaxy S22 series could be unveiled during MWC 2022, and the pre-orders could start in the second week of February 2022.
Galaxy S22 series specifications
The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ could feature 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch Super AMOLED 120Hz displays, respectively, with Full HD+ resolution. The Galaxy S22 Ultra could sport a 6.8-inch Super AMOLED LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. All phones are expected to feature an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ might have a 50MP+12MP+10MP triple-camera setup on the rear and a 10MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will reportedly have a quad-camera setup with an improved 108MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with a 10x optical zoom. All cameras might be able to record 4K 60fps videos.
Samsung might equip all three phones with the Exynos 2200 chipset with AMD Radeon GPU. Units sold in the US could have the Snapdragon 898 processor. All the upcoming Galaxy S series phones could run Android 12-based One UI 4 out of the box.
The Galaxy S22 is powered by a 3,700mAh battery, while the Galaxy S22+ has a 4,500mAh battery. The Galaxy S22 Ultra continues to use a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are expected to feature 45W fast charging.
