Galaxy S22 GPS issues are ‘official,’ fix coming soon
The Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 series has some issues, and one of them concerns GPS connectivity. For reasons — and under conditions — that aren’t very clear as of this writing, some Galaxy S22 models powered by the Exynos SoC reportedly lose GPS connectivity in apps like Google Maps and Waze. Fortunately, Samsung has acknowledged the problem, and it’s working on releasing a fix “soon.”
Over the past few weeks, numerous Galaxy S22 customers from Europe — where Samsung sells the Exynos variants exclusively — took to the official Community Forums and explained the problem. Now, a Samsung moderator merged all these complaints under a single thread and issued a response.
Look for a firmware update to roll out “soon”
The Samsung Community moderator confirmed that Samsung acknowledged the GPS problem affecting Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 models. The company is working on a fix that should hit the waves “soon.”
Samsung doesn’t appear to be sure when it will have this firmware update ready for the Galaxy S22, but we’ll keep you up to speed if we find out more.
