Galaxy S21’s carrier-unlocked variants start getting April 2022 security update in the US

Last week, Samsung released the April 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20’s carrier-locked models in the US. Now, the update’s reach is being expanded to the unlocked models of the smartphones across the country. It will take a few weeks more for the phones to get the May 2022 security update.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G98xU1UES2EVD3. It brings the April 2022 security patch that fixes over 88 privacy and security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy phones and tablets. It might also contain general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy S20 series smartphone user with a carrier-unlocked model in the US, you can download and install the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install.
