Galaxy S21 Ultra gets discontinued right before Galaxy S22 Ultra reveal

It is common practice for OEMs to discontinue previous-generation offerings once a new model is about to drop. To that end, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has been out of stock for quite some time on Samsung’s regional websites, indicating that Samsung no longer plans to sell any more of those. Samsung USA’s website seems to have rid itself of the SKU altogether.

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ are here to stay, for now

However, the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ seem to be in stock, at least in some regions. However, we recommend that you hold off on buying one unless it comes with a hefty discount. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are slated to bring significant upgrades over their predecessors and one would be better off waiting.

Whether or not one will be able to get a Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S22+ at launch is an entirely different question. Supply constraints could force Samsung to make the better-specced Galaxy S22 Ultra available before its siblings. That is a tad disappointing, as the Galaxy S22 Ultra is, for the most part, a Galaxy S21 Ultra with a few bits swapped out.

Thankfully, Samsung’s high-end Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ are still on the website. Both high-end tablets hold their own quite well, even in 2022, so there’s no reason for Samsung to discontinue them anytime soon. Besides, Galaxy Tab S8 models could be hard to get as it is.
