Galaxy S21 gets November 2022 security update in the US

Early last month, the Galaxy S21 series got the November 2022 security update as a part of the stable Android 13 update. Now, the same update is rolling out to the carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S21 series in the US.

The new security update for the carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with firmware version G99xUSQS5DVK7. It brings improved security and reliability to the three smartphones. Don’t expect to find any new features with this software update. This new software is currently rolling out on Xfinity Mobile’s network and could reach other networks in the coming days.

If you are a Galaxy S21 series user on Xfinity Mobile’s network, you can download the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 series in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The devices in the lineup received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in late 2021 and the Android 13-based One UI 5 update a few weeks ago. They will get two more Android OS updates over the next two years.
