Galaxy S21 gets May 2022 security update in the US

A few days ago, Samsung had released the May 2022 security update to the Galaxy S21’s international models in Europe. The South Korean firm has now started rolling out the update to the carrier-locked variants of the phones in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with firmware version G991USQU5CVDB. The update brings the May 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It might also include device stability and performance improvements.

You can download the latest software update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy S21 series early last year with Android 11-based One UI 3.1 on board. The phones received the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update late last year and the One UI 4.1 update a few weeks ago. The Galaxy S21 series will get two more Android OS updates in the future.
