Galaxy S21 FE gets May 2022 security update in Asia, Europe

Last week, Samsung released the May 2022 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE in the US. Now, Asian and European Galaxy S21 FE users have started getting the latest security update. Other markets could soon get this new update as well.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990BXXU2CVD9 in European markets. In Asian countries, the update comes with the firmware version G990EXXU2CVDA. The new update brings the May 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities found in Samsung’s smartphones. The update might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user in Asia or Europe, you can now download and install the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in January 2022 with Android 12-based One UI 4.0. The phone received the One UI 4.1 update a few weeks ago. It will get four major Android OS updates (up to Android 16) in the future.
