Galaxy S20’s June 2022 security update expands to unlocked units in the US
Samsung has released the June 2022 security update to the carrier-unlocked units of the Galaxy S20 series in the US. The update was released to carrier-locked units in the country last week and to international units three weeks ago.
The new software for the Galaxy 20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G98xU1UES2FVE5 in the US. The update is meant for carrier-unlocked units. It brings the June 2022 security patch that fixes over 60 privacy and security vulnerabilities. It could also include general bug fixes and performance improvements.
If you are a Galaxy S20 series user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can install the newest update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung debuted the Galaxy S20 series in early 2020 with Android 10 on board. The phones received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in late 2020 and the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in late 2021. It will get one more Android OS update sometime later this year.
