Galaxy S20 gets February 2023 security update

Last week, Samsung released the February 2023 security update to its smartphones and tablets. The update was first released to the Galaxy Note 20 series and then to the Galaxy A52 5G and the Galaxy S21 FE. Now, it has reached the Galaxy S20 series in various countries worldwide.

Galaxy S20 gets February 2023 security update in Latin America first

The 5G versions of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are getting the new update in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay. The update comes with firmware version G98xBXXSFGWAD, bringing the February 2023 security patch that fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities.

The 4G LTE versions of the Galaxy S20 series devices are getting the February 2023 security patch with firmware version G98xFXXSFGWAD. The update will be released in more countries in the next few days.

If you have a Galaxy S20 series smartphone and live in any of the countries listed above, you can install the February 2023 security update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file appropriate for your phone’s model number from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in 2020 with Android 10 onboard. Towards the end of 2020, the Galaxy S20 series received the Android 11 update. They got the Android 12 update at the end of 2021 and the Android 13 update in the third quarter of 2022. The devices won’t get Android OS updates anymore.
